The First NFT Platform for Dance Music
RCRDSHP, an NFT platform for electronic music, has finished its first funding round, which was described as a “multi-million dollar” seed round by the platform. According to MBW, the platform has received over $5 million in seed funding. Bessemer Venture Partners and Pantera Capital led a $30 million Series A investment for San Francisco-based NFT platform MakersPlace last month. OneOf, an NFT platform, raised $63 million in a seed round in May from well-known tech and music industry figures.
The NFT community’s Metakovan and Twobadour (through PortKey Technologies), as well as Dapper Labs, donated to RCRDSHP’s seed round. In March, Metakovan and Twobadour purchased the world’s most expensive NFT, a $69 million digital art piece developed by Beeple and auctioned at Christies. Each limited-edition RCRDSHP collectable is constructed on the Flow blockchain and “encapsulates a unique aspect of an artist, label, or festival’s musical worlds,” according to a press release. In mid-August, the site debuted with 5555 “genesis packs,” which are digital collectibles made up of electronic dance music.
